Fire Safety Tips

Help prevent wildfires in our community

Check Conditions

Always check the fire danger level before burning. Don't burn during high or extreme conditions.

Best Burning Times

Burn in early morning or evening when humidity is higher and winds are calmer.

Never Leave Unattended

Stay with your fire until it's completely extinguished. Drown, stir, and feel for heat.

Clear the Area

Remove flammable materials at least 10 feet from your burn pile. Clear to bare soil if possible.

Watch the Wind

Don't burn when winds exceed 10 mph. Wind can quickly spread fire beyond your control.

Keep Help Handy

Have a charged phone nearby. Keep a hose, bucket of water, or fire extinguisher ready.
